Monstrum games are the work of Dan Stradwick (also known as "garin"), a designer and programmer originally from New Zealand but now residing in Melbourne, Australia. Dan created and designed Monsters Den to be a party-based dungeon crawl tactical RPG. It is still available at Armor Games and Kongregate web sites for browser based play and it was published in 2007. Dan considers the game a 'financial disappointment'. This didn't stop the developer from trying however and he created The Book of Dread as an expansion of the original game, adding several new features and interface improvements as well as new content. It was released in 2008.

In March of 2012, Dan Stradwick released Chronicles as an entirely new game built from the Godfall codebase. It was a departure from his earlier games in several respects. It featured an isometric dungeon view instead of the traditional overhead, and full-body sprites in combat instead of portraits. It also had a different structure, with the player progressing the same large group of heroes over the course of many separate adventures. It is still playable on Armor Games.

Dan's 4th game Godfall was recently Kickstarter funded and is currently in development.

Players can create a party of up to four heroes, from five distinct character classes. Then battle to the depths of the dungeon, increasing in strength and finding powerful treasure.
